General Woundwort

Description

Well, I just finished Watership Down. It's a wonderful, wonderful book by Richard Adams, about the adventures of a band of rabbits who journey from their doomed home to search for a better future. But it's no fantasy novel with animals standing upright and wearing clothes. The rabbits (and other animals) talk, have their own language, and even their own mythology, but this is an incredible look into the way rabbits live and act in the wild, and the place they have in the world of nature. It may sound strange to you, as it did for me at first, but as I began reading I soon found that there was good reason for the three solid pages of quotes praising the novel at the beginning of the book. The book has very interesting characters, legends, adventures, danger, and tragedy... it's really deep for a book about bunnies. I highly recommend it to anyone. It's one of my favorite books now. I'll never look at rabbits the same again!

General Woundwort is a large, villainous rabbit in the book. He had a rough past, and it turned him evil and bitter, with an insatiable lust for power. He's not like a rabbit at all... he fights to the finish, and fleeing is the last thing on his mind. He's ready to tear anyone who opposes him to pieces. I won't tell you any more...

The movie's a monumental piece of animation, and is famous for doing the book justice.

... ah. If that's how you picture Woundwort, however, I suggest you take some sort of sedative before watching. The urge to run and scream may be too great. ^_~
